I graduated from Auburn University in 1975 and started my teaching career in the Fall of 1976 at Jemison High School.  I received my Masters Degree in 1980 and my EdS. Degree in 2005 from the University of Montevallo.  I became the Assistant Principal at Jemison Elementary School in the Fall of 2001 and the Principal in the Fall of 2004.  I became the Principal of Clanton Intermediate School in June 2016.  As a 1971 graduate of Chilton County High School, I felt as if I had come full circle to come back to Clanton.

My husband is the late Barry Pitts and we have 4 children:  Samantha Sims (Kyle), Sally Fichtner (Kevin), B.J. Pitts (Tia), and Jessica Trotman (William). I have 11 grandchildren, Five attend school here in Clanton.

I am excited about CIS' House System that we have implemented.  With the House System, we are implementing the following expectations:  Respect People & Property, Make Eye Contact, Show Good Manners, Complete Assignments, Show a Good Attitude, & Give Effort in Everything You Do.  I am looking forward to having a great year. Together we can make a difference in the future of our children.
